A KING IS BORN

Help Is On The Way!

Pastor Doug Heisel – December 8, 2024

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short

of God’s glorious standard.

Romans 3:23

We’ve compiled this long and sorry record as sinners…

and proved that we are utterly incapable of living the glorious lives God wills for us.  Romans 3:23 (MSG)

Isaiah 9:6:

For to us a Child is born,

to us a Son is given,

and the government will be on His shoulders.

And He will be called

    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

This is telling us that…

  1. God’s plan for all of us always involved JESUS being the SOLUTION to our greatest needs.

For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given…

For God so loved the world that He gave

His one and only Son… John 3:16

His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into His own family by sending Jesus Christ to die for us. And He did this because He wanted to!  Ephesians 1:5

"The virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son,

and they will call Him Immanuel"

(which means "God with us").  Matthew 1:23

  1. Jesus came to CARRY me and   LEAD me into the better story, that I could not create on my own.

…and the government will be on His shoulders

He personally carried our sins in His body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right.

By His wounds you are healed.  I Peter 2:24

“…being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ.”  Philippians 1:6

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.

I Peter 5:7

  1. Jesus has additional NAMES  that become the solution to any problem that comes into my life.

The name of the LORD is a strong tower;

The righteous run into it and are safe.

Proverbs 18:10

Run to Jesus, not from Him, with your …

CONFUSION: He Is a Wonderful Counselor

OVERWHELMING CIRCUMSTANCES:  He is the Mighty God

INSECURITIES: He Is the Everlasting Father
