FULLY ALIVE

“Getting More Life From God’s Ways”
Pastor Doug Heisel – April 30, 2023

Isaiah 55:9 — For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

Exodus 33:13 — (Moses said) If it is true that you look favorably on me, let me know your ways so I may understand you more fully and continue to enjoy your favor.

Godly Ways That Will Bring You More Life

  1. Overcome any BITTERNESS with the power of GRACE and the freedom of FORGIVENESS.

    Hebrews 12:15
    — See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.

Ephesians 4:31-32 — Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

  2. Overcome all ENVY by expressing GRATITUDE more often.

    Colossians 2:6-7
    — Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.

  3. Overcome a spirit of GREED by building a lifestyle of GENEROSITY, beginning with putting God FIRST.

    Luke 12:15
    — Then (Jesus) said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.

Luke 12:31 — ...But seek His kingdom (first), and these things will be given to you as well.

Haggai 1:7-9 — This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways. Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build my house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored,” says the Lord. “You expected much, but see, it turned out to be little. What you brought home, I blew away. Why?” declares the Lord Almighty. “Because of my house, which remains a ruin, while each of you is busy with your own house.

Psalms 90:17 — Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and prosper for us the work of our hands—O prosper the work of our hands!
